Kidpreneurs, young moguls and parent managers will be excited to hear the Raising a Mogul Family Business Summit will take place in Atlanta, Georgia from Thursday, 27 June to Sunday, 30 June 2019. This first of a kind event will be hosted by Tamara Zantell, mom of a teen millionaire and CEO of Raising A Mogul, at the Four Points hotel and will be an incubator to help families launch businesses, connect with mentors, have products reviewed and network.
“I helped my 9 year old daughter Zandra turn her kitchen table, lip gloss hobby into a million-dollar brand and now I want to help other parent managers build their children’s dreams. Zandra Beauty, a plantbased skincare company creating opportunities for girls and women across the globe, may appear seamless now, but it started with my daughter learning how to make lip gloss after my husband refused to give her $2 to buy some,” she says.
At the summit, speakers will talk about topics including starting a business, marketing, selling, being ready for retail, public relations, media training, product pricing, non-profit development, government contracting, partnerships, budgeting basics and scaling strategies. There will also be an opportunity for kidprenuers to pitch their businesses ‘Shark Tank’ style and earn seed funding.
“I created the Raising A Mogul platform because I wanted to make life easier for parents who are where I was years ago. I was single, climbing the corporate ladder and struggling to hold it together. I had three children with different interests who I knew were destined for greatness, however that greatness needed to be nurtured, positioned correctly and fine tuned before it could manifest. I had no idea where to begin,” says Tamara.
According to the momager, when Zandra was a teen, no one took them seriously when Zandra wanted to enrol in business courses or attend seminars. She says after a while, they made their presence known and started the Raising a Mogul community to help other parents avoid hurdles they had to go through.
“In today’s technology driven world, kids can easily turn their sharp skills into something financially productive, if they are getting the right support from their parents. This is beyond the basic lemonade stand. The kids in the community are authors, journalists, beauty creators, fashion designers, business owners, and some have products in major retail stores,” says Tamara.
The momager says some families have children who are actors, athletes and social media influencers. Some kids have had Ted Talks, spoken at universities, received awards and have brick and mortar businesses. She adds that the community has several kids who ship internationally and hit six figures annually.
“Raising A Mogul aims to give parents confidence and get the knowledge and tools they need to raise a kidpreneur. I know there are parents that remain overwhelmed and stressed, but are committed and determined to give their children the best, help them become their best and thrive to become changemakers, while creating a real legacy,” says Tamara.
The momager says Raising a Mogul is exactly what she needed years ago and is the answer for parents who may not have time to research. She says parents are encouraged to challenge the status quo and prove children don’t have to be adults to begin contributing to and changing the world.
“As a micro business strategist and self-proclaimed creative problem solver, I work for Zandra. I am enjoying life as a corporate drop out. The summit and community is an accelerated learning experience that transforms the world’s most promising young moguls and their family businesses into the next generation of powerful leaders,” says Tamara.
