Il ha Yi, founder and chair of Good Neighbors International, is a visionary who has established himself as a premier expert of non-profit organizations in Korea with expertise being globally recognized. The mission of Good Neighbors International, which is to make the world a better place without hunger where people live together in harmony, is something he has been working hard to achieve for 10 years in the United States division and over 25 years globally. Yi says thanks to valuable donations, they have been able to lead continuous change in 35 countries for 27 years. He says whether it is child rights protection, empowering women, education, health, disaster and relief assistance or community development and social enterprise initiatives, this non-profit organization is making the world a better place for all.

“Every staff member of Good Neighbors International and I are doing our utmost to embrace our vulnerable neighbors across the world and make a world without hunger. We work in any place where there is a need, regardless of race, religion, ideology and beyond geographical constraints,” says the president. According to Yi, Good Neighbors International respects the human rights of their neighbors suffering from poverty, disasters and oppression and helps them to achieve self-reliance and enable them to rebuild their hope. He says he believes one of the best ways to transform communities is to empower people and they work with those who are socially and economically marginalized to support them to be better aware of their human rights and become self-reliant. “Our organization promises to hear the voices of participants in our Good Neighbors International movement to implement field operations professionally and to report operation impact transparently to ensure accountability. We strive to create sustainable change for the vulnerable and strong partnerships with the communities,” says Yi. The president says they raise awareness of human rights and the role of duty bearers, prioritizing the rights of children and promoting cooperation and solidarity. He says they promote self-reliance and sustainable development of individuals, families and communities mobilizing and organizing local volunteers to participate in developing their communities.

“We maintain professional accountability and transparency by reporting to our donors on the status of projects and finances and strive to encourage more people to join our work as members. Your support makes a tangible difference in the lives of children, families and individuals in over 35 countries in which we work and I encourage people to join Good Neighbors International as donors to participate in our work,” says Yi.
