Global Entrepreneurship Week 2019, by the Global Entrepreneurship Network, will take place in over 170 countries with 10 million people attending 35 000 events from 18 to 24 November 2019. This conference enables you to connect with a vibrant ecosystem of entrepreneurs, investors, researchers, policymakers and startup champions in other countries.
The themes for Global Entrepreneurship Week 2019 (#GEW2019) are education, ecosystems, inclusion and policy. GEW Education works to share resources, raise awareness and provide skills training to potential entrepreneurs around the world and celebrates the tools and programs communities use to foster entrepreneurship.
GEW Ecosystems aims to inspire communities to collaborate and share their networks and markets to help rising startups thrive. GEW Inclusion highlights work startup champions are doing around the world to minimize barriers and obstacles for entrepreneurs by maximizing inclusion and celebrates diversity in all forms, including women and youth in entrepreneurship.
GEW Policy highlights the work of governments and policymakers to help entrepreneurs everywhere start and scale. By fostering deeper cross border collaboration and initiatives between entrepreneurs, investors, researchers, policymakers and entrepreneurial support organizations, the Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN) works to fuel healthier start and scale ecosystems creating more jobs, educating individuals, accelerating innovation and strengthening economic growth.
Activities, workshops and speaker series held around the world during #GEW2019 will explore obstacles entrepreneurs from underserved populations may face and discover solutions through access to success stories, training, capital and mentorship. This event celebrates the successes and impact of entrepreneurs to help break down cultural barriers and reach new audiences, expanding the number of people who consider trying their hand at becoming an entrepreneur.
Through the Global Entrepreneurship Research Network and GEN’s Startup Nations policymaker network, GEN helps identify and crowdsource best-in-class policies and public programs that help entrepreneurs thrive. Initiatives such as the Global Business Angels Network, Global Enterprise Registration, Startup Huddle, GEN Starters Club, Startup Open and other programs, offer programs and resources to help smooth the path to market for founder teams and provide entrepreneurs at all stages with the support necessary to reach the next level.
GEN helps enhance collaboration among entrepreneurs, investors, policymakers, researchers and startup community leaders through its virtual platforms and numerous live events including its Global Entrepreneurship Congress (GEC) and GEC+ series, the annual Startup Nations Summit, global annual meetings of its vertical communities and by co-hosting other events across the globe.
GEN helps celebrate, understand, support and connect entrepreneurs and those who champion them. It reaches new audiences from large-scale startup competitions and workshops to small, community discussions and connects participants to a network that can help them take the next step, no matter where they are on their entrepreneurial journey.
